On Thursday, the Odisha government made a little change in the IPS cadre by giving two senior police officials additional duties.
A notice from the Home Department states that Akhileshwar Singh, an IPS officer from the 2009 batch who currently holds the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Special Intelligence Wing (SIW), has been assigned the additional responsibility of DIG, South Western Range (SWR), Koraput.
Another announcement states that Kanwar Vishal Singh, an IPS officer from the 2010 batch, has been appointed as DIG, Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar, replacing his previous position as DIG, South Western Range (SWR), Koraput.
