9 Candidates Remain In Fray For Jharsuguda Bypoll

There were still nine candidates running for the May 10 byelection for the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency.

“Today was the final day to withdraw your name from the Jharsuguda by-election. After reviewing the nominations, 10 contenders remained in the running. Today, Bhubaneswar Gardia, an independent candidate, withdrew his name from contention. As a result, nine candidates are still running for the by-election, according to Jharsuguda Sub Collector Kishore Chandra Swain.

Tankadhar Tripathy of the BJP, Tarun Pandey of the Congress, Dipali Das of the BJD, Janma Rohidas of the Odisha Pragati Dal, Manish Sharma of the Odisha Janata Dal, Mahindra Patnaik of the Kalinga Sena, and independent candidates Bijay Kumar Jalan, Mahendra Luha, and Gyanendra Behera will be making their bids in the byelection.
