In Odisha, 25,000 Families Participated In The OBC Survey On The First Day

On Monday, the first-ever assessment of the social and educational circumstances of members of the 208 other backward class (OBC) group was launched in Odisha. 25,000 households from all throughout the state were enrolled during the first day of the OBC census. The poll will continue in all areas of the state until May 27 in both online and offline formats. The survey is being carried out by the 114 civic body areas and all 314 blocks in Odisha by the State Commission for Backward Classes.

The OBC population can also register for the survey for free online at www.oscbc.odisha.gov.in. Families’ heads or any other senior person can offer family information at the survey counters set up at the Anganwadi centers and schools when the survey is conducted offline. Enumerators have been hired among the anganwadi staff and instructors. The study is being conducted to compile data using a questionnaire on the kind of homes people reside in, their means of subsistence, and their access to infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, marketplaces, colleges, and other facilities.

The study is being performed to determine the social and educational situation of the backward classes, according to state minister of SC, ST development, minorities, and welfare for the backward classes Jagannath Sarka. According to him, it is essential for precise planning of their socioeconomic growth. In response to the accusations made by the opposition, Sarka stated, “Our Chief Minister never engaged in caste politics. We might plan for the OBC population more skillfully with the aid of the survey.
