Naveen Inaugurates Gymnastics High Performance Centre At Kalinga Stadium

At the Kalinga Stadium, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today officially opened the new High Performance Centers for Gymnastics and Hockey. Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India and Tata Steel and Tata Trusts are partners in the gymnastics high performance center, while Tata Steel and Tata Steels are partners in the hockey high performance center. Rakesh Patra and Tapan Mohanty from Odisha received a check for Rs. 10 lakh from the chief minister on this occasion in recognition of their qualification for the next Asian Games 2023.

Odisha adopts a partnership approach for athletic greatness, according to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who was speaking at the opening event. Odisha’s athletic environment has grown even more strong with the opening of the new Hockey High Performance Center and Gymnastic High Performance Centre, improving athletes’ capacities to participate and excel in both national and international tournaments. These new facilities will be essential in identifying undiscovered talent and developing future medal-winning athletes.

Dedicating Gymnastics High Performance Centre to the gymnasts of India, Chief Minister, added, “Odisha is committed to the development of Gymnastics. I am delighted to see our state and AM/NS India come together towards development of Gymnastics. This partnership will go a long way in creating a vibrant gymnastics ecosystem in the country and help identify and nurture young talent for the future.”

Speaking on the new hockey high performance centre, Chief Minister said , “We are extremely happy on our partnership with the Tata Group for hockey development at HPC and even grassroots centers.
