We will soon be able to make our roads safer for everyone, according to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, with the support of all road safety initiatives. He made this statement while at the National Road Safety Short Film Festival’s 2023 grand finale. The Department of Commerce and Transport is organizing its second short film festival. The festival’s goal was to raise public awareness through short film last year. The city’s KIIT University served as the venue for the grand finale.

247 short films in seven languages from eight states have been submitted to the film festival. The CM said in a statement on the occasion that movies evoke feelings. They aid in our development of empathy. He emphasized that movies help us connect to topics we frequently ignore.

He went on to say that these little films about road safety are a suitable way to get society involved in addressing one of the most difficult problems facing society today: road safety. He emphasized that every life matters to us. For our government, road safety is a top priority. Expressing gratitude to the Commerce & Transport Department for organizing this short film festival, he said the initiative, which commenced a year ago, was recognized as one of the best road safety awareness initiatives by the Supreme Court of India.

He mentioned how encouraging it is that 247 films have entered so strongly. About 5,000 people attended the top 42 film screenings in Berhampur, Sambalpur, and Angul, and they responded very positively. In addition to the entries in Odia, the CM expressed happiness for the entries in Sambalpuri and Santhali.
