Major IAS Reshuffle: SJTA Chief Shifted; 17 Collectors Transferred

The Odisha government reorganized the bureaucracy significantly today. The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has released a notification regarding this matter. Temjenwapang Ao, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division), Berhampur, has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Public Enterprises Department of the Government, as per the notification. As the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division), Sambalpur, Srikanta Prusty, Special Secretary to the Government, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, has been appointed.

Ranjan Kumar Das, the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, has been appointed as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division), Cuttack, following his transfer. Additionally, he will continue to hold the position of Revenue Divisional Commissioner for Berhampur’s Southern Division. Samarth Verma, the Puri Collector, was named the Additional Chief Administrator of the Administration of the Shree Jagannath Temple. According to the announcement, the position of Additional Chief Administrator at Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has been deemed to be of equal standing and authority to the Additional Secretary to Government position held by the State’s IAS Cadre.

Ashish Thakare, the collector from Keonjhar, has been named the district magistrate and collector of Mayurbhanj. Sudarshan Chakravarthy, the Kurdha Collector, has been appointed as the Director of Minor Minerals in Bhubaneswar. The position of Additional Secretary to Government in the State of Mayurbhanj’s IAS Cadre is deemed to be comparable in status and responsibilities to that of the Director of Minor Minerals. Cuttack has appointed Collector Vineet Bharadwaj as both the district magistrate and collector.

Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, a commissioner of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), has been named director of rural development. It is determined that the position of Director of Rural Development in the State’s IAS Cadre bears the same status and responsibilities as the Joint Secretary to Government post.
