Manoj Sonkar of the BJP defeated Kuldeep Kumar of the AAP on Tuesday in Chandigarh’s mayoral elections.Manoj Sonkar, the BJP candidate, won the Chandigarh mayoral election, and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal blamed “cheating in broad daylight” for the victory. He initially responded to the news by saying that the BJP could “stoop so low” to win the mayoral elections and that it would do whatever it took to win the Lok Sabha polls.Together with the Congress, the AAP had run in the election. In the 35-member assembly, the AAP-Congress coalition received a higher total of votes than the BJP.
Manoj Sonkar received sixteen votes, and Kumar received twelve. There were eight invalid votes. As soon as the results were announced, the council members of the Congress and AAP alliances in India began to demonstrate.The deputy mayor and senior deputy mayor elections will now be conducted by the recently elected mayor. Candidates from the Congress have been submitted for these two positions. In the 35-member Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, the BJP has 14 council members. There are 13 council members in the AAP and 7 in the Congress. There is one councillor for the Shiromani Akali Dal.
