With Chief Minister and party president Naveen Patnaik at the helm, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is certain of a “historic” win in the state’s next Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The people of Odisha are eager for Naveen Patnaik to serve as Chief Minister for a sixth consecutive term, according to remarks made on Sunday by Pranab Prakash Das, the organisational secretary for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Das asserted that over 10,000 persons, including numerous professionals and members of national parties, had filed for BJD tickets to run in the upcoming elections, demonstrating the growing public faith in Naveen Patnaik over time. The fact that a number of professionals and prominent members of national political parties are vying for BJD seats is cause for celebration. With the support of the 4.5 crore Odisha voters, we firmly feel that the BJD is headed for a historic win in this election,” Das stated.

This huge number of applications is an indication of that Naveen Patnaik’s popularity is increasing and people’s trust in his leadership is growing, the BJD organisational secretary wrote on his X handle. “The people of Odisha have already decided to install Naveen Babu as the Chief Minister for the sixth time in a row,” Das said, adding that BJD is all set to register a ‘massive victory’ in the upcoming elections.

The leader of the BJD went on to say that Naveen Patnaik has been ranked as the nation’s top chief minister in all recent national survey results. Similar to this, he said that BJD has demonstrated it is the state’s leading political party by garnering more than 52% of the vote in the 2022 panchayat elections.
