The general budget presentation for Odisha year 2024–25 was the topic of a secretary-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan, which was presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. Preparations for the “9th General Council meeting of Niti Aayog,” scheduled for July 27 in New Delhi, were also discussed at the meeting. The “4th National Chief Secretaries’ Conference,” which is connected to the agenda in the context of “Viksit Bharat @2047,” was also discussed during the meeting. It will take place in New Delhi in November. Odisha’s position in the “Sustainable Development Goals-India-Index-2023-24” was discussed in a presentation by the State Planning and Coordination Department.
A hunger-free society, excellent health, gender equality, high-quality education, clean drinking water, integrated irrigation, and the implementation of programs in light of climate change were among the topics covered during the summit. Additionally, the state’s financial status as of June 2024 was showcased. The 100th anniversary of the creation of an independent Odisha province in 2036 and the 100th anniversary of independence in 2047 were highlighted by Chief Secretary Ahuja, along with the creation and execution of five-year plans and programs. He counseled secretaries to concentrate on a number of topics, including the state’s job prospects, land development, welfare of the populace, industrial-friendly environment, irrigation, water, education, and agricultural expansion.
The implementation of several programs where interdepartmental coordination is required was also discussed at the meeting. The Chief Secretary gave the secretaries instructions to resolve the public complaints within a predetermined window of time. The conference was attended by the secretaries of all the departments and commissioners of Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, and Additional Chief Secretary Surendra Kumar.
