Navi Mumbai police arrested Sukhbir Balbir Singh, alias Sukha, a prominent member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, three days ago in Panipat, Haryana. The arrest occurred in a hotel room on Wednesday night, where a woman cooperating with law enforcement lured him. Sukha is suspected of playing a significant role in planning an attack on Bollywood superstar Salman Khan earlier this year. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for its ties to organized crime, has been under investigation for an alleged plot to assassinate Khan using firearms smuggled from Pakistan.
According to a report by Dainik Jagran, a young woman working undercover was assigned to befriend Sukha and gain his trust. Over time, they communicated regularly, setting the stage for a sting operation. On Wednesday, she reached out to Sukha, informing him that she was at the Abhinandan Hotel in Panipat and claimed to be very drunk. “I’m somewhere in Panipat, but I don’t know where. I’m at the Abhinandan Hotel and will send you my location—come here,” she told him during the call.
