Odisha Disburses Rs 5,000 To Over 20 Lakh Women In Phase III For Subhadra Yojana

As the third part of the first installment, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday gave Rs 5,000 in cash aid to more than 20 lakh new recipients under “Subhadra,” the biggest women’s empowerment program in Odisha. It is noteworthy that more than 25 lakh beneficiaries received aid in the first phase, which was deposited into their bank accounts; in the second phase, more than 35 lakh recipients received support at Baripada in Mayurbhanj. By the third phase, the state has provided Rs 4,000 crore in aid to 80 lakh women.

While disbursing this assistance, the Chief Minister said that the money will help in making the dreams and aspirations of women a reality. “The fruits of development should be felt by people from all walks of life. Subhadra Yojana is a well-thought-out and beautiful step in this direction,” he said.

“The Odia culture is a reflection of Jagannath culture. In the Sri Jagannath culture, Maa Subhadra is the embodiment of equality and strength. All the mothers and sisters of Odisha are the embodiment of Maa Subhadra for me. In the Odisha culture, we give due respect to women. A living example of this is our Raja Parva,” the Chief Minister observed.

According to Majhi, more than 3.37 lakh women have received the first payment of the Subhadra Yojana, and 4.59 lakh mothers and daughters in the Sundargarh district have enrolled. The chief minister also unveiled 984 projects in the Sundargarh district, totaling Rs 1,201 crore. In Sundargarh, the Chief Minister officially opened 692 development projects totaling Rs 808,30,15,000.
