At the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, another Nepalese student was discovered dead in her dorm room. The corpse was found in room 111 on campus number 4, and it is believed that the occurrence was a suicide. The cause of the death has not yet been established, though. The deceased, who went by Prisha Shah, lived in Biragunj, Nepal. She was enrolled in the institution’s B.Tech program.
An inquiry has been started by the police team, which is headed by the Commissioner, DCP, and other senior officers.
“When attendance was taken at 7 PM, student Prisha Shah, who was staying alone in her room, did not respond from inside. When the hostel authorities examined, she was found hanging. On being informed, we have reached the spot with a scientific team and started the investigation. Her room is being searched. We have informed her parents through the embassy. They will reach tomorrow and the post-mortem will be conducted in their presence at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar,” Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh stated.
This tragedy comes after a similar incidence at KIIT last February, when a Nepalese student committed himself, causing considerable indignation and student demonstrations. The KIIT officials are once again under examination as a result of the current occurrence. An investigation is under progress. Police seized the body for post-mortem.
