Odisha To Sanction 37 Lakh Houses Under PMAY-G By November

The Odisha government plans to approve concrete homes for 37 lakh more households under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) project in the upcoming months, which will significantly increase housing in rural areas. Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik made this announcement today. Speaking to reporters, Minister Naik stated that the state administration is getting ready to implement the next round of allocations, and the proposal has already received approval from the Center.

“The government plans to sanction the new houses by November this year. I have already held detailed discussions with the Union Minister concerned during my recent visit to New Delhi,” he said.

The application scrutiny procedure is still under progress, the minister noted. “We are reviewing around 4 lakh online applications. Offline applications would soon start to be scrutinized, Naik said. The initiative is intended to give millions of rural households much-needed home stability and represents a major extension of Odisha’s core housing project. By doing this, the administration hopes to step up its efforts to promote inclusive growth and higher living standards throughout the state.
