Feature: In an era where artificial intelligence is rewriting the rules of business and technology, few leaders embody its transformative potential as vividly as Mr. Sujit Routray. From his early days in Odisha to boardrooms in Dubai and global collaborations with NVIDIA and governments, Mr. Routray’s journey is one of relentless innovation, resilience, and purpose. Today, as the Co-founder and CEO of Nyukt.AI, he is spearheading a bold new chapter in AI—Agentic AI—designed to redefine how humans and machines build the future together.
Mr. Routray’s journey began in Odisha, where his schooling and engineering education laid the foundation for his technical curiosity. A graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from ITER (SOA), followed by an MBA from the prestigious Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), he always carried a dream of putting his home state on the global innovation map. “I always had this vision to build something out of Odisha, to put it on the world map as an innovation hub—like how India became the dot-com provider of the world in the 2000s,” he recalls.
His career began as a technology consultant at Accenture, where he was deploying complex solutions globally across multiple industries. But entrepreneurship was never far away. Since 2015 Mr. Routray has built, scaled and exited multiple ventures in various fields starting from Beauty, Healthcare, Media, Entertainment, Deep Tech, Fintech etc. Soon after, as the COO – Digital of Asianet News Network he played an instrumental role in scaling it to become a leading multi-lingual news platform reaching over 75 million monthly active users. As a hardcore techie, he experimented with AI back in 2018 by implementing an in-house developed AI-driven translation engine in Asianet.
From media to fintech, his career reflects a restless pursuit of innovation. He co-founded OdinMo Technologies, where AI-driven underwriting systems and automated onboarding reshaped digital lending. At MoXey Tech Limited, he spearheaded AI-powered risk assessment models and predictive analytics frameworks that expanded financial services to underbanked populations across multiple MENA countries. His corporate stints with consulting majors like Accenture and Infosys honed his ability to scale AI-powered decision models for global enterprises.
Yet, it was the launch of his first AI product a year ago that crystallized his vision for Nyukt.AI. With headquarters in Dubai, a delivery centre in Bengaluru, and a $150 million R&D hub coming up in Bhubaneswar, Nyukt.AI is building cutting-edge AI solutions for fintech, enterprises, and governments. Mr. Routray is determined to transform the state into the next Silicon Valley for AI.

At the heart of this mission lies Agentic AI. Unlike traditional AI frameworks that provide insights or generate outputs, Agentic AI is designed to act like a true co-founder—executing multi-step tasks, bridging the gap between ideas and execution, and enabling one person to build and scale ventures once requiring entire teams. Mr. Routray traces the evolution of this journey, from the early days of simple chatbots in 2012, to the rise of generative AI models like ChatGPT a decade later, followed by RAG-based systems capable of remembering user data and personalizing interactions. Today’s Agentic AI represents the next stage—AI that works like a human colleague, taking initiative and executing tasks. Looking ahead, Mr. Routray believes the next frontier will arrive in five to six years: fully autonomous Agentic AI powered by quantum computing, zero-shot learning, and explainable AI, fundamentally altering how humans work and innovate.
Mr. Routray’s credibility is strengthened by prestigious partnerships and accolades. Nyukt.AI is an official Industry Partner for India’s Quantum AI Mission and collaborates with NVIDIA for advanced AI infrastructure. His innovations have earned him the Economic Times Global Leader Award 2025 for Excellence in Deep Tech Innovation and Applied Research, and his ventures have been recognized by the DIFC Innovation Hub in Dubai.
In the world of finance, where Nyukt.AI has made deep inroads, Mr. Routray identifies two of the most impactful AI applications today: fraud detection and hyper-personalization. With digital payments booming and fraud volumes rising, AI is now indispensable for predicting and preventing financial crimes. At the same time, AI is delivering personalized financial products—whether automating routine transactions or recommending tailored investment strategies—making banking smarter and more inclusive.
But Mr. Routray is equally mindful of the debates surrounding AI’s risks. “Like any tool, AI’s impact depends on how we train and govern it. Ethical guardrails are crucial—just as parents teach kids values. On jobs, history repeats itself: computers and the internet created more opportunities than they destroyed. AI will enhance human potential, not replace it,” he asserts.
His dream, however, goes far beyond corporate success. By bringing global experts to Odisha and investing in talent development, Mr. Routray envisions his home state as a global innovation hub. With the state’s AI mission, semiconductor investments, and Nyukt.AI’s massive R&D initiative, Bhubaneswar could very well emerge as a nerve centre of India’s deep tech ecosystem.
For young entrepreneurs in AI and fintech, his advice is simple yet profound: “Don’t chase buzzwords. Solve real problems around you—your family, friends, community. Start small, and the tech will follow. There will be failures, but they are stepping stones to where you will be in the future.”
From his early days in Odisha to leading cutting-edge AI collaborations across Dubai, Bengaluru, and Paris, Mr. Sujit Routray’s journey exemplifies leadership with vision, resilience, and purpose. With Nyukt.AI, he isn’t just building a company—he is building the future of AI itself, while making sure his roots in Odisha become part of that global story.
