150 years of Vande Mataram: Odisha CM calls for keeping unity & fraternity

On Friday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hailed the public on the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,” the national anthem of all brave Indians. Inspired by the spirit of the magnificent hymn of patriotism, he urges for maintaining togetherness and brotherhood. “Today’s historic day is a moment of great resolve for us,” the CM stated on X. Today is the 150th anniversary of the completion of the timeless song “Vande Mataram,” which gave rise to the vision of India as an independent nation. This is a day to commemorate the national determination that sprang from our forefathers’ sacrifices and renunciation, not just a historic occasion.

This song, written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and inspired by Guru Rabindranath Tagore’s voice, served as our independence warriors’ death-conquering motto. For thousands of revolutionaries fighting for freedom, this powerful statement of patriotism carried a triumphant smile to the scaffold. Every strand of it had become a lightning trail for the Indians when the British administration attempted to outlaw it.

“At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri @Narendramodi, let us all promise once more to dedicate our life for the sovereignty and unity of our homeland as we recall the timeless tale of this wonderful song. Mataram Vande! Mother India wins! “Jai Hind!” the post continued.
