The idea behind Organelle Farms was inspired by a simple but powerful realization — while India possesses enormous agricultural potential, farmers continue to struggle with fragmented supply chains, inconsistent markets, and limited access to technology. Poonam envisioned an ecosystem where every stakeholder, from farmers and logistics teams to retailers and consumers, works in harmony like the organelles of a living cell. This philosophy became the foundation of Organelle Farms, a farm-to-fork ecosystem built on sustainability, transparency, and inclusive growth.
Spread across more than 400 acres in Boudh, Odisha, Organelle Farms combines traditional farming wisdom with modern agricultural practices. The farms rely on chemical-free cultivation, vermiculture, drip irrigation, greenhouse farming, and renewable solar energy while also integrating technology-driven CRM and ERP systems for operational efficiency and traceability.
What sets the organization apart is its belief that sustainability and scalability are not opposing forces but complementary pillars of long-term agricultural success.
Technology plays a central role in the company’s operations. From procurement tracking and cold-chain logistics to route optimization and inventory planning, Organelle Farms uses data-driven systems to minimize wastage and improve quality control in perishable supply chains. Poonam believes that agriculture today cannot scale without structured systems and smart decision-making backed by technology.
Beyond business growth, Poonam’s work carries a strong social mission. As a woman leader in a traditionally male-dominated industry, she has consistently advocated for women’s participation in agriculture and entrepreneurship. Through initiatives linked to FLO Bhubaneswar and various social foundations, she has contributed towards financial literacy, skill development, women upliftment, hunger-free initiatives, and cancer awareness programs.
Her contributions have earned her several prestigious recognitions, including the Best Women in Agri-Tech Award at the FICCI Ladies Organisation National MSME Awards 2026 and the Women Leadership of the Year Award 2023.
Yet, despite these accolades, Poonam remains deeply focused on impact-driven growth.
