The Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department authorized 152 positions for professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and senior residents across many government medical institutions on Thursday in a significant effort to improve the state’s super specialized healthcare facilities. In order to improve specialized healthcare and medical education in government-run institutions, the newly approved positions will be established in super specialty departments such as Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Nephrology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, and Hematology.
The Health Department claims that the authorized positions would be dispersed across a number of hospitals and medical schools. Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Nephrology, and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery will all have faculty and senior resident posts at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Posts in cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, and nephrology have been assigned to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada, Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir, and Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore.
Posts in the Department of Hematology have been approved for MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, while Surgical Gastroenterology and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery have been approved for VIMSAR in Burla. The Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery has been assigned positions at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. New positions in Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Plastic Surgery will be added to Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital in Talcher, while all positions in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Shri Jagannath Medical College and Hospital in Puri have been approved.
Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents in the corresponding departments are among the authorized posts. According to the Health Department, the hiring would improve specialized healthcare services and provide access to high-quality medical care throughout the state’s government hospitals and healthcare facilities.
