For President Droupadi Murmu’s planned visit to the state from August 3 to 5, the Odisha government thoroughly reviewed security, protocol, and administrative arrangements. Chief Secretary Anu Garg instructed all departments to finish preparations within the allotted time. Senior authorities evaluated Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Ganjam districts’ readiness for the President’s engagements during the state-level assessment meeting, which took place at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Director General of Fire Services Sudhanshu Sarangi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Hemant Sharma, secretaries from several departments, the Divisional Railway Manager of East Coast Railway, and senior police and administrative officials were among those in attendance. The conference was substantially attended by the Cuttack and Ganjam district police superintendents and collectors.
According to the proposed itinerary reviewed during the meeting, President Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar by a special aircraft from New Delhi on the afternoon of August 3. After reaching Lok Bhavan, she will travel by road to Jagadguru Kripalu University near Baanga in Cuttack district’s Damapada tehsil to inaugurate the university before returning to Bhubaneswar for an overnight stay.
Given the current monsoon circumstances, the President is expected to travel by train from Bhubaneswar Railway Station to Berhampur on August 4. She will travel by road from Berhampur to Taptapani, where she would participate in a tree planting event after praying and performing an aarti at Maa Kandhuni Devi Peetha. A planned visit to the Dhabaleswar Temple, which is close to Berhampur-Gopalpur, is also included in the schedule. After spending the night in Berhampur, the President is scheduled to return by train to Bhubaneswar on August 5 and then take a special Indian Air Force aircraft back to New Delhi.
