Prior to the disbursement of the fifth payment of the SUBHADRA plan, Pravati Parida, the Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha and Minister of Women and Child Development, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. During the discussion, Parida informed the Prime Minister about the plans to discharge the fifth installment of SUBHADRA from Nayagada, Odisha, on August 28, 2026, in honor of Rakhi Purnima.
Each qualified beneficiary will get Rs 5,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the fifth payment. According to the most recent plans, a total of more than Rs 5,160 crore would be transferred to 1,03,26,162 qualified women recipients. Parida outlined the actions the State Government is doing to guaranty the smooth and prompt distribution of aid to all qualified recipients. To guaranty that the financial help reaches beneficiaries as soon as possible, special attention has been paid to beneficiary verification, e-KYC, Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, NPCI mapping, and other banking arrangements.
The significance of the fifth installment in advancing the State Government’s commitment to the financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women throughout Odisha was also explained to the Prime Minister by the Deputy Chief Minister. Notably, on September 17, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the SUBHADRA program in Bhubaneswar. The Government of Odisha’s main women-centric program seeks to give qualified women financial support totaling Rs 50,000 over a five-year period, with Rs 10,000 given yearly in two equal installments of Rs 5,000 each through DBT.
