Spread the love

Some books are easy to finish, but some make you stop in between and think about your own life. This was one of those reads for me.

What I liked most about this book is how naturally it talks about family, relationships, emotions, regrets, and the things we often leave unsaid. The story does not try to make everything perfect. The characters have their own mistakes, fears, weaknesses and difficult choices, which makes them feel much more real.

While reading it, I found myself thinking about how often we avoid difficult conversations. Sometimes we stay quiet because we are scared of hurting someone. Sometimes we think there will always be another opportunity to say what we feel. But life does not always give us that opportunity.

The emotional connection with family, especially the parts dealing with a mother and the pain of things left unfinished, stood out to me. There is a quiet sadness in these moments, but also a sense of love that stays even when people and circumstances change.

I also enjoyed the way the story moves through memories, conversations and different moments in the characters’ lives. It gives the reading experience a slightly cinematic feel. At times, the pace is slow, but I felt that this worked for the kind of story being told. It gives the reader space to understand the emotions instead of rushing from one event to another.

What stayed with me most after finishing it was its central thought: we often spend so much time avoiding certain truths that we forget how important it is to simply face them.

For me, this was not just a story about one person’s journey. It was also a gentle reminder to appreciate the people around us, say what needs to be said, and not keep important conversations for “someday.”

A quiet, emotional and thoughtful read—especially for anyone who enjoys stories that make you reflect long after the last page.
