West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, hospitalized in Kolkata after unidentified men allegedly attacked her in Nandigram. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik showed his concern over her health condition.
CM Banerjee hoped that she will return to election campaigning in the next two to three days even though she will need a wheelchair. She sustained injuries on her left leg and waist as she fell on the ground after she was allegedly pushed by anonymous miscreants while campaigning for West Bengal assembly elections in Nandigram.

Banerjee is undergoing treatment at the SSKM Hospital where Preliminary medical tests are conducted in which it was discovered that severe bone injuries in her left ankle and foot, and injuries in her right shoulder, forearm, and neck.
According to the report, Banerjee will be under observation for the next 48 hours and an examination will conducted which will decide the next course of treatment.

After the incident Odisha CM Patnaik showing his concern quoted via Twitter- “Concerned to know about the hospitalization of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Wishing her speedy recovery and praying for good health.”
Banerjee is contesting the West Bengal assembly polls from Nandigram, where she is pitted against Suvendu Adhikari, who defected from her Trinamool Congress (TMC) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The eight-phased elections to the 294 seats in West Bengal will be held between March 27 and April 29 and the votes will be counted on May 2.
