The Indonesian oil company, Pertamina said on Monday that the Balongan Oil Refinery in western Java had been closed to protect it from the fire. About 450 families from the surrounding area have been relocated. According to photos taken on social media, the fire is estimated to have consumed 1,25,000 barrels of oil per day.
