Rs 6,690.86 Cr Spent On KALIA Yojana In Three Years By Odisha Government: Minister

Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment Minister Arun Sahu informed the Odisha Assembly that the Odisha Government has spent around Rs 6690 crore in three years on Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Yojana during 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21.

As per the official report, the information revealed by Minister Arun Sahoo was a written reply to a question by BJP member Nauri Nayak during the Odisha Assembly. Minister Sahu stated that in the last three years by February 2021, a total amount of approximately 104.60 lakh small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural families have been assisted KALIA.

The report further stated that while sharing the breakup, in 2018-19 and 2019-20 fiscals, 51.05 lakh small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural families were provided with assistance. For this purpose, a sum of Rs 2175.66 crore was spent towards financial assistance to farmers and administrative expenses in 2018-19 and Rs 3243.01 crore was spent in 2019-20 as informed by Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment Minister Arun Sahu.

Even in the fiscal year of 2020-21 around the amount of 53.55 Lakh small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural families have been provided with assistance at an expense of Rs 1272.19 crore by February.
