The 11-day-long fighting between Israel and Hamas has come to an end. Both countries have declared a ceasefire. The ongoing war in Gaza has come to a halt after both countries signed a ceasefire agreement. According to Israeli media reports, the security cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved an end to 11 days of military operations in Gaza.
An official from Hamas also confirmed the information. No one will attack anyone as both countries have allowed a ceasefire. The ceasefire agreement has been in effect since 4 a.m. Friday. Most importantly, Egypt acted as a mediator in resolving the dispute. Egyptian mediators explained to Israel and offered to agree to a ceasefire. The proposal was accepted by the Israeli Security Council.
Pressure was mounting to stop the Israeli-led attacks in Gaza. The U.S., a close ally of the country, also condemned the attack on Hamas and called on both countries to maintain restraint and peace.
Yet Israel intensified its attack without hearing anything. Israel said the attack would take a decisive turn. But on Thursday, a sudden high-level cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Netanyahu took place. It was unanimously decided not to violate the ceasefire in Gaza.
During a security cabinet meeting, Defense Department officials told the ministers that all operations launched against the Palestinian terrorist group in the Israeli coast had been successfully completed. The group that is active here is now fragmented.
While Hamas is very fearful of Israeli action, it is suffering a lot. “It was time to impose a ceasefire in Gaza.” Then there was the vote to impose a ceasefire in Gaza.
Hamas has also confirmed a ceasefire agreement with Israel. Egyptian media also reported. A Hamas official told Reuters that a ceasefire had been reached with Israel. The 11-day-long conflict in Gaza has come to an end.
Notably, the clashes between Israel and Hamas began less than 10 days later. Earlier, clashes erupted at the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police. Tensions were high in the area.
Israel then attacked Hamas by airstrikes. Hamas and other extremist groups also fired more than 4,000 rockets at Israel. As a result, Israel intensified its attacks.
The country’s ground forces attacked Gaza. The largest building in Gaza was razed to the ground by Israeli aggression. From the hospital to the general public, was hit by the Israeli rocket.
The Gaza Health Department said at least 227 Palestinians, including 64 children and 38 women, had been killed in the attack. Similarly, 1,620 people were injured. As the fighting escalated, about 58,000 Palestinians fled their homes. Twelve people, including a five-year-old Israeli boy, a 14-year-old girl and a soldier, were killed in the Hamas attack.
