Hours after the Income Tax raids in poll-bound Padampur, a team of GST officials carried out raids on business houses in the western Odisha town.
The GST raids were carried out on four business units, including a cloth store and a filling station in Padampur and at a business centre in Paikamal and Jharbandh, sources said.
Earlier in the day, Income Tax sleuths carried out raids at residences of three businessmen in Padampur. This western Odisha assembly segment goes to bypoll on December 5.
As a mark of protest against the raids, Padampur Traders’ Union has called for 12-hour Padampur bandh on Tuesday.
