Sunak then talked about his experience in the finance sector and enquired as to whether the man would “want to get into” it.

He said he hoped a charity would help him locate some temporary housing so he would not be sleeping on the streets for Christmas. The debate was excruciating, according to Labour’s deputy leader Angela Rayner, and according to Labour MP Stella Creasy: “Watching this, I am concerned that the Prime Minister believes homeless means doesn’t currently have a country pile.” Sunak used the excursion to explain how the government had committed 2 billion pounds over three years to combating homelessness and rough sleeping.
