Shalini Pandit, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare and Chairperson of the State Health Assurance Society (SHAS), reviewed how the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) was being implemented on the ground and instructed the State team to schedule routine refresher/orientation camps for District Coordinators (DCs) and Swasthya Mitras (SMs) with best practice modules on providing health services to people at the institutional level. In the recent review of the BSKY implementation plan in the SHAS conference room, where Chief Executive Officer SHAS and Mission Director NHM Brundha D. presented the topics for discussion, Pandit provided the instructions.
To “empower DCs with adequate know-how for rapid redressal of people’s problems” at the hospital level, Pandit requested that the State team act. She also underlined the need of carefully examining any unfavorable comments made by patients who used the Mo Sarkar method. The nodal officers of several hospitals with empanelled status both inside and outside of Odisha were tasked with conducting thorough investigations into the complaints and unfavorable comments they had received via various sources.
According to the analysis, over 95% of complaints made through various channels, including social media, were addressed and resolved in a timely manner for the benefit of the patients. In the meeting, the topics of hospital empanelment and delisting based on BSKY performance were discussed. There was discussion and development of the performance evaluation standards for the hospitals with accreditation.
