According to a press release from the AICC, “the CEC has picked the following individuals as Congress candidates for the upcoming elections to the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka.”Priyank Kharge from Chitapur, Rizwan Arshad from Shivajinagar, Dinesh Gundu Rao from Gandhinagar, Tanveer Sait from Narasimharaja, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan from Chamrajpet, former deputy CM G Parameshwara from Koratagere, and former minister KH Muniappa from Devanahalli were among the other names on the list of Congress leaders.After a meeting in Delhi on March 17, the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC), which is presided over by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, approved the first list of candidates. After the Aam Aadmi Party, which unveiled its initial list of 80 candidates on Monday, the Congress is the second party to announce their schedule of candidates for the important elections in Karnataka.
