Having completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2015 with the support of an MHRD scholarship, he further pursued his Post-Doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2019. Over the course of his career, he has authored and edited forty-two books published by globally reputed publishers such as IEEE-Wiley, Springer, Wiley, CRC Press, NOVA, and De Gruyter. His intellectual contributions are further evidenced by more than three hundred thirty international journal publications that establish his authority in areas including data mining, big data analytics, cognitive science, fuzzy decision-making, brain-computer interfaces, cognition, and computational intelligence. Dr. Mohanty’s career has been marked by numerous recognitions and honors. During his doctoral years, he was the recipient of six Best Paper Awards at international conferences and was conferred with the Best Thesis Award in 2015 by the Computer Society of India. His dedication to mentoring and academic leadership is evident from his supervision of nine doctoral scholars and twenty-three postgraduate students. His professional stature is further acknowledged through his election as a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, and the Indian National Academy of Engineering, while he also holds the position of Senior Member of the IEEE. His research engagements have been supported repeatedly by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, including funding for international travel to present papers at global platforms.

 

In addition to his individual scholarly output, Dr. Mohanty has contributed significantly to the academic community through leadership and editorial roles. He serves as the General Chair of two international conferences, including the International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning, and leads as the Editor-in-Chief of reputed international journals such as the International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning Applications, the International Journal on Smart and Sustainable Intelligent Computing, and the Journal of Sustainable Development. His reputation extends beyond research, as evidenced by the inauguration of one of his recent books by the Governor of Odisha, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, a gesture that underscores the recognition of his contributions at both national and international levels.
