Actor Rajiv Kapoor Passes Away At Age 58 From A Heart Attack

Bollywood actor and brother of late Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor died at the age of 58 as he suffered from a massive heart attack.

As per the reports, Rajiv suffered from a heart attack following which he was immediately rushed to the hospital. Neetu Kapoor, his sister-in-law posted a picture on social media and quoted- “RIP.”  Komal Nahta also tweeted that the actor died of a heart attack- “Very sad news. Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor passes away following a heart attack.”

Rajiv Kapoor was the son of the legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. He was the brother of Bollywood actors Rishi, Randhir, Rajiv Kapoor, and Rima Kapoor, and Ritu Nanda.

Rajiv Kapoor was also popularly known as Chimpu and was popular for his role in father Raj Kapoor’s last directorial Ram Teri Ganga Maili which was released in 1985. He was also seen in movies like -, Mera Saathi and Hum To Chale Pardes among others. He later turned into a producer with the 1991 film Henna and Aa Ab Laut Chalen. He also produced as well as directed PremGranth which starred Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit-Nene in the lead roles which were released in 1996.

In a news report, Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news by stating -“I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him. I am at the hospital, waiting for his body.”

In 2018, Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor passed away, and soon after, Ritu Nanda died in January 2020. In the same year, Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor also passed away.
