A case has been filed against Saif Ali Khan for portraying Ravana’s human nature in his upcoming film Adipurush. Saif Ali Khan said in an interview that the film attempts to portray Ravana’s human perspective and Goddess Sita’s abduction. Saif Ali Khan also apologized after the controversy. A case has now been filed against Saif Ali Khan and Om Raut, the film’s director, for axing religious sentiments. The case will be heard in the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Jainpur. The court has set December 23 for the hearing of the appeal.
A civil court lawyer said Himanshu Srivastava in his petition said that his religious sentiments were hurt by Saif Ali Khan. He said Lord Rama was said to be a symbol of virtue while Ravana was said to be a symbol of sin. Saif Ali Khan, who played the role of Ravana in the original film, said in a statement, “It will be interesting for him to play the role of Ravana. But in the film, they try to portray Ravana from a human point of view. He also tried to avenge Goddess Sita’s abduction and his battle with Lord Rama because Ravana’s sister Surpanakha had her nose cut off. ‘
After the controversy, Saif Ali Khan said he was returning his statement and apologized if anyone’s religious sentiments were hurt.
