The South Korean K-pop band BTS is on cloud nine as this year their first English song ‘Dynamite’ has broken all the records. They have been nominated for the Grammys 2021 and their album ‘Be’ has become the first album to generate more than one top 10 hits in the US.
BTS’s song, ‘Dynamite,’ has gained much acknowledgment and popularity worldwide. According to the Billboard chart, BTS has managed to be in the number 1 position in Billboard Hot 100 with their three songs in the last three months, the first being Dynamite released in August. Later it dominated the chart at one continuously for two weeks, moved to number two in the third week, then become number one at the fourth week again.
The song ‘Dynamite’ recently grabbed headlines due to the nomination for Grammy. For the first time, the BTS is nominated for Grammy Awards for best pop duo/group performance. Even BTS also collaborated with Jawash 685 and Jason Derulo’s Savage Love remixes, which grabbed the number one spot.
One of the song, which is the lead single of BTS’ one of a kind album ‘BE (Deluxe Edition)’ also lead the first position in the Billboard 200 chart. The album shares the honest emotions and thoughts the band has felt during the pandemic; the record created amid COVID-19 carries the hopeful message that “life goes on.”
Now BTS band member Jimin is very hopeful that they can win a Grammy this coming year.
Even Twitter India recently released the annual report of 2020 ranking of the number of total tweets mentioning the handle from 1st January to 15th November 2020, where it stated that BTS dominated music conversation on Twitter. Their fans call them as ‘ BTS Army’ made vocalist Jungkook’s rendition of ‘Lauv’s Never Not’ the most retweeted tweet in the music genre in India this year.
