Actress Mousumi Nayak was taken into custody by Infocity Police on Monday and brought before the court after writer Banamsita Pati lodged a complaint regarding a disagreement regarding a financial transaction. A few weeks ago, an argument arose between Mousumi and Banasmita regarding a Rs 5.80 lakh financial transaction.
According to reports, Mousumi Nayak had earlier claimed that she had given writer Banamsita Pati Rs 5.8 lakh, which she had invested in the stock market and received no return on. Together with promises from both parties, the two also filed a compromise petition at the Infocity Police Station. It was agreed that Banasmita would give the money back to Mousumi and that the latter would refrain from taking any action that would damage the former’s reputation.
But it turns out that, despite Banasmita having paid the money, Mousumi had broken the agreement and was still harassing her. In addition to attempting to demand money from the writer, Mousumi was also charged with making offensive remarks about the writer on social media. Banasmita had complained to the Infocity Police Station about this. A case has been filed against the actress by the police under sections 385, 295, and 505 of the IPC. Soon after the actress returned from her Hyderabadi filming, police in the Chandaka area arrested her from her apartment after looking into the matter.
However, Mousumi had previously complained to the Chandaka Police Station, claiming that Banasmita was pressuring her to work as an escort. The actress claimed that the writer had coerced her into making an investment in the stock market and that he was not giving her money back.
