Dr. Bijayashree, the Founder & Director of Agzistence Intelligence Private Limited, brings a wealth of experience to her role. She holds a PhD from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and has a strong background in teaching and research. Her post-doctoral experience at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as her work with national and international organizations, has fuelled her passion for social and environmental impact.

1.Could you please elaborate on the inspiration that led to the establishment of Agzistence?
Extensive research into rural livelihoods and the agricultural sector inspired me to create Agzistence on December 21, 2021. With the guiding principle of “Be Future Ready,” Agzistence is committed to transforming the food value chain into a forward-looking ecosystem, enhancing skills, promoting sustainability, and creating a positive social and environmental impact.  Agzistence operates through three platforms: Knowledge, Sustainability, and Social & Environmental Impact.

2.What factors influenced your decision to concentrate on the specific courses and services that Agzistence currently offers?
Our primary focus is nurturing expertise, championing sustainability, and driving social and environmental change. Through skill development initiatives for industry stakeholders, students, farmers, and retailers, we are dedicated to instilling practices that guarantee lasting prosperity, thereby forging a path toward a sustainable food value chain that is well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

3.In what ways does Agzistence set itself apart from other similar businesses operating within the industry?
Agzistence distinguishes itself through its all-encompassing approach, which encompasses personalized learning programs, dedicated ESG and Sustainability Reporting tools, and high-impact SROI endeavours. It fosters inclusivity among all stakeholders within the food value chain, ensuring accessibility and scalability, all while propelling the creation of a significant and future-ready workforce.

4.Would you be willing to share some instances of success stories or notable accomplishments achieved by Agzistence and its students?
Agzistence has a wide-reaching impact that spans across various dimensions. Those who have graduated from its programs have seamlessly integrated into top agri-input companies, sparking innovation and entrepreneurial pursuits. A prime example is Mrs. Subasa Mahanta, a visionary farmer from Odisha who is also an Agzistence Barefoot Fellow. She has created job opportunities and attracted media coverage. Agzistence’s innovative approach is evident in its partnerships with industry leaders and its efforts to empower women farmers in Chhattisgarh through upskilling initiatives.

5.Are there any forthcoming plans or initiatives that Agzistence is considering to extend its reach or introduce new programs?
Agzistence is committed to expanding its global footprint through proactive collaboration with educational institutions, industry associations, and kindred organizations. These strategic alliances will streamline the dissemination of our programs to a diverse array of learners across the globe. We are also coming up with Agzistence Future Ready Certification Program (AFRCP) in Agri-Input Industry for students and Agri-professionals.

6.While managing Agzistence, what challenges have you faced, and how did you navigate and overcome them?
Agzistence faces several challenges in bridging the gap between theory and practice coordinating multiple diverse stakeholders and varying levels of industry engagement. However, Agzistence’s ability to adapt, its collaborative ethos, and its unwavering commitment to its mission drive creative solutions and resilience in confronting these challenges, with a strong focus on achieving meaningful impact.

7.Agzistence offers a diverse range of courses. How does the company ensure the quality and relevance of these courses in a rapidly evolving educational landscape?
Agzistence adopts a versatile strategy. We ensure course content remains current by collaborating with industry specialists and academics. We prioritize technology integration, enlisting the expertise of tech professionals. Continuous feedback from learners and professionals refines the quality of our courses. Our adaptable offerings cater to a wide range of learner backgrounds and aspirations, equipping them to navigate the ever-evolving landscapes of agriculture with confidence.

8. Beyond the course materials, what kind of supplementary support and resources does Agzistence furnish to its students?
We furnish certificates and recommendation letters to students who successfully finish programs on the Agzistence platform. Students can upload their resumes and become part of the Agzistence Talent Bank, making them visible to all our partner companies, thus improving their job prospects. Each student receives personal mentorship from experienced professionals. Additionally, Agzistence offers assistance in resume building and job interview preparation.
