Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated 4.18 kilometres long elevated corridor from Gota Flyover to science City Box in Ahmedabad, Gujarat along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present on the occasion.
According to the reports, Amit Shah launched the Dairy Sahakar scheme at Gujarat’s Anand with the overall objectives of doubling the farmer’s income and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He also addressed Amul’s 75th Foundation Day in Anand. Shah stated that it was time for Amul to look forward and incorporate several activities that so far remained outside its realm which includes building an online platform for organic farmers.
“Time has come for Amul to look ahead… Lots of issues connected with agriculture and animal husbandry need to be incorporated into the cooperative movement. It is also time to make agriculture aatmanirbhar (self-reliant). Cooperatives with success stories should come ahead. Restricting yourself to 36 lakh families of farmers (associated with Amul) is not right. These (organic) farmers do not have a platform to market their products or sell them inside or outside the country. Can any of our cooperative bodies take this responsibility? Can institutions like Amul make such platforms?” Shah further added.
Further, Shah also addressed the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ (National Unity Day) programme at Kevadia in Gujarat’s Narmamda district on the occasion of the 146th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
