Anna Lezhneva Offers Hair at Tirumala in Gratitude for Son Mark Shankar’s Recovery After Singapore Fire Incident

Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, is back in India with his son Mark Shankar Pavanovich, following a harrowing incident in Singapore. The actor’s eight-year-old son was injured in a fire that broke out at a shophouse on River Valley Road on April 8. Among the children and adults affected, Mark suffered burns to his hands and legs and faced respiratory distress due to smoke inhalation.

In a gesture of gratitude for her son’s recovery, Pawan Kalyan’s wife, Anna Lezhneva, performed the traditional head tonsuring ritual at the Tirumala temple. The family expressed deep thankfulness for the support and prayers extended to them during the difficult time.

At the time of the incident, Pawan Kalyan was on an official visit to Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district, where he was engaging with local communities. Upon hearing the news, he immediately traveled to Singapore, accompanied by his elder brother and actor, Chiranjeevi.

Pawan later issued a statement updating the public on his son’s condition: “Our youngest son, Mark Shankar, was injured in a school fire in Singapore and is being treated in hospital. He is gradually recovering.” He also thanked everyone—politicians, actors, and well-wishers—who prayed and performed poojas for Mark’s recovery.

Chiranjeevi also shared a heartfelt update on social media platform X, writing, “Our baby Mark Shankar has come home. But he still needs to recover. With the grace and mercy of our clan deity, Anjaneya Swamy, he will soon be fully healthy and back to normal. Tomorrow is Hanuman Jayanti, and that Lord stood by us, saving that little child from great danger and tragedy.”

He went on to express gratitude to the public: “After the incident, people from various regions and villages stood in solidarity with our family by offering prayers and blessings for Mark Shankar’s recovery. I, on behalf of my brother Pawan Kalyan and our entire family, wholeheartedly thank each and every one of you for your support.”
