Maha Vikas Aghadi Government decided to allow the sale of wine at supermarkets and walk in stores. The walk in stores reportedly have an area of over 1000 sqaure feet. To this social activist Anna Hazare said that he will go on an indefinite hunger strike on February 14. He has stated ” Culture will perish, hedonism will grow” if wine sale is allowed in supermarkets.
Anna Hazare also said that he has sent two “Reminder letters” to the Chief Minister concerning this issue but no response has been received yet. Hazare said that the State Government seems to have taken the decision keeping the revenue generation of wine producers and sellers. However this may result in alchohol addiction for youngsters and violence against women can increase.
