A team of four medical professionals from Bolpur Hospital, including a doctor and a nurse, visited Modal at his home shortly after the CBI notice and “recommended him to bed rest” following the assessment. A day after he failed to appear before the central agency, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was once more called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the alleged cattle smuggling scandal. He received a notification at his Birbhum home requesting him to come before agency representatives on Wednesday at 11 am. Mondal, the head of the TMC’s Birbhum district, has already appeared twice before the organisation in response to their prior nine summonses.
