The FIRs filed against banned BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma in connection with her divisive comments about Prophet Muhammad on a TV programme were moved to Delhi by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The Delhi Police has received all the combined FIRs filed against Nupur Sharma for inquiry. The protection from arrest will last until the investigation is finished. The top court had further stated that it never meant for the BJP leader to seek relief from the hate speech suits brought against her in every court.”In light of what has transpired afterwards, this Court’s concern is how to make sure the petitioner can pursue an alternative remedy. We give notice in order to investigate such a modality,” a bench of Justices Surya Kant and J. B. Pardiwala said. According to the same bench, she has a “loose tongue” and is “single-handedly responsible for what is occurring in the country,” especially in Udaipur, where a tailor was purportedly killed by a hacksaw in June after spreading her words.Sharma’s senior attorney Maninder Singh had asked the Supreme Court’s approval on July 1 to withdraw the case rather than have it rejected. The bench granted the petitioner’s request to withdraw it with the option of using alternative remedies. On July 18, Nupur Sharma submitted a new plea asking for protection from arrest and the joining of her cases. “Your Lordships, please. The threat is current and genuine, according to Singh.
