During the impending Rath Yatra, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced a unique plan to make it easier for Puri citizens to enter the Shree Jagannath Temple. Speaking after presiding over the second annual festival coordination conference, Harichandan stated that a special system is being created to guarantee locals have easy access to Lord Jagannath’s darshan despite the enormous influx of devotees anticipated for the celebration.
According to the minister, the two postal PIN numbers that span Puri town will serve as the foundation for the facility’s implementation, which is being built with help from the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC). By presenting their Aadhaar cards as identification and evidence of residency, eligible locals will be permitted entrance into the temple under the proposed arrangement. Harichandan underlined that only Puri residents would be eligible for the special arrangement, and that they would not be allowed to bring friends, family, or other companions.
