The District-Level Folk Dance Competition 2026-27 was successfully organized by Dhenkanal Science Center, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the District Education Office, Dhenkanal, which is part of the School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha.
M.M. Rout, District Science Officer of the Dhenkanal Science Center, and Biswajit Mishra, District Science Supervisor, launched the initiative. In his inaugural talk, Mr. Rout informed the participants about the competition’s rules and regulations and gave his best wishes to all contestants. He also urged students to maintain and promote Odisha’s rich cultural history through traditional dancing.
A total of eight school teams, representing the winning entries from different blocks of Dhenkanal district, participated in the district-level competition.
Results:
* 1st Prize: Panchayat Raj High School, Kanapura, Kamakshyanagar
* 2nd Prize: Sri Aurobindo Integral Centre of Education, Matrubhumi, Barada
* 3rd Prize: PM SHRI B.B. High School, Dhenkanal
During the valedictory ceremony, trophies and certificates were presented to the winning teams, while participation certificates were awarded to all participants. Biswajit Mishra delivered the vote of thanks.
The entire programme was successfully coordinated by Shankar Gurung, Education Assistant, Dhenkanal Science Centre.
