Among the major projects processed under his supervision are the Mohana–Koraput Section of NH-326, Aska Bypass on NH-157, Sonepur Bypass on NH-57, Kokasara–Nabarangpur Section of NH-26, Mangalpur–Kayangola Section of NH-20, and the Kurumpuri–Raj Khariar Section spanning NH-353 and NH-59. These strategically important corridors are expected to reduce travel time, improve freight movement, and strengthen connectivity between urban centres and remote tribal districts. Equally noteworthy has been his contribution to the approval and development of several major bridge projects that address long-standing connectivity challenges. These include bridges over the River Tel, River Indravati, River Ong, River Mahendratanaya, River Nagavali, along with the Songarh Bridge. Once completed, these structures will provide year-round connectivity, improve disaster resilience, and enhance access to education, healthcare, and markets for thousands of residents.
Beyond flagship infrastructure projects, Sunil Kumar has also been actively involved in the technical and administrative processes that support highway expansion, including project clearances, utility coordination, tender management, and ensuring compliance with Ministry guidelines. His office has continued to facilitate approvals for new highway works and widening projects across Odisha, reinforcing the state’s growing infrastructure pipeline.
