A nine-year-old Dalit kid died on Saturday after being beaten up reportedly by a teacher Chail Singh in a private school in Rajasthan’s Jalore district for touching a drinking water pot, according to police. The event occurred on July 20 at a private school in Surana village in Rajasthan’s Jalore district. Indra Meghwal, the wounded youngster, was transferred to a hospital in Ahmedabad for treatment.However, he died in the hospital on Saturday while being treated, according to police sources.Inder’s father, Deva Ram, stated in his police report that the teacher’s assault caused damage to his right ear and eye. His ear was leaking, and his eye was swollen.The child had no idea that the pot was intended for Mr. Singh, who is of a higher caste. Inder’s family members and townspeople launched a protest demanding stern punishment against Mr. Singh and the cancellation of the private school’s recognition, Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Police used force to disperse a gathering that threw stones at officers after one of the family members demanded more pay and a government position. Few people were injured in the fight. Chail Singh, 40, was arrested and charged with murder as well as violating provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Attrocities) Act.
