The University Grants Commission (UGC) plans to consolidate NEET and JEE Main with CUET in order to decrease the load on students and streamline the entrance test process in India.According to UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, technological issues in the early stages of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) would not impact the exam’s development ambitions, which include a proposal to integrate it with JEE and NEET.
“The technological difficulties in the early stages of CUET-UG are not setbacks, but rather learning.” They would be straightened out soon and will not prevent scaling up or growth plans for the critical test,” he told PTI in an interview.””According to the NEP, the aim is to create a common admission test to alleviate the strain on students of taking various entrance exams.” However, we will not rush to release it since we need to plan ahead of time. “It’s a big exercise,” he explained. When asked when the merger is expected, Kumar said the details are still being worked out.”By the end of this month, an expert committee will be formed.” It will research all key admission tests held in the country and overseas. If the test is to be introduced next year, preparations must begin immediately due to the vast exercise and the several subjects involved. The National Testing Agency now administers all three admission tests – NEET, JEE Main, and CUET. The NEET UG 2022 exam was held on July 17, 2022. JEE Mains 2022 examinations were held in June and July, while CUET UG 2022 exams are now being held. The NCERT curriculum will be followed by the new integrated CUET UG, while NTA will be required to follow the Class 12 syllabus for all topics, including those for JEE and NEET.
