Arun K. Chittilappilly is a visionary leader in the amusement park industry, renowned for his strategic direction and innovative approach. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Swinburne University in Melbourne. Arun has played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of Wonderla Holidays, a company originally founded by his father, Kochouseph Chittilappilly.
After completing his Master’s, Arun became actively involved in the operations of Wonderla Kochi (then known as Veegaland), which was just two years old at the time. His leadership was instrumental in transforming Wonderla into a national brand, culminating in the launch of Wonderla Amusement Park in Bengaluru in 2005, which remains the company’s largest project.
In 2014, under Arun’s guidance, Wonderla raised ₹180 crores through an IPO, enabling further expansion into new cities. Since then, the parks have collectively welcomed over 40 million visitors, solidifying Wonderla’s reputation as one of India’s most visited amusement park chains. His strategic vision also led to the opening of the Hyderabad Park in 2016, a resort in Bengaluru in 2012, and the recent Bhubaneswar Park in May 2024. With the Chennai Park nearing completion, Arun’s ambitious expansion plans include multiple projects across India, focusing on northern states and partnering with various state governments.

Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, inaugurated an amusement park run by Wonderla Holidays on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Covering 50 acres, this is Wonderla’s fourth park, joining existing locations in Kochi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The park is designed to enhance tourism, provide family-friendly activities, and create job opportunities.
