On Monday night, the hanging body of a newly married woman was discovered inside her in-house law’s in the Patrapada area of the state capital of Odisha. Sushri Sangita Bastia has been identified as the deceased. Sushri married her husband 1.5 years ago, according to reports. She was also living with her husband and in-laws.
Sushri, on the other hand, hanged herself in a room on Monday night with a rope. Sushri’s in-laws later knocked on her room door, but she did not respond. Sushri’s in-laws broke open the door, suspicious, and discovered Sushri’s hanging body. Sushri was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment, but doctors declared her dead. According to sources, Sushri’s mother-in-law stated that she took her own life for unknown reasons.
Meanwhile, Sushri’s parents have claimed that her in-laws murdered her for dowry demands and framed the situation as a suicide. They have also filed a dowry death complaint with the Tamando police station. According to reports, the police have seized Sushri’s body and sent it for autopsy. As a result, the police have launched an investigation into the matter based on the complaint to determine the cause of Sushri’s death, and a further investigation will be conducted once the autopsy reports are released.
