The wartime might be officially on. Though there is no yet official confirmation yet, however as per many reports throughout the globe Russia has made the full-time invasion of Ukraine.
Russia today launched a military operation in Ukraine in what could be the start of the war in Europe over Russia’s demands for an end to NATO’s eastward expansion. Explosions were heard from Kyiv and other cities after the Russian announcement.
The Russian defence ministry said that Ukraine’s air bases and military infrastructure has been neutralised, according to an IFX news agency report. Meanwhile, the Ukraine military said that five Russian planes and a Russian helicopter were shot down in the Luhansk region, reported Reuters.
As Putin spoke, big explosions were heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv and other areas of Ukraine. Later, air sirens went off in Kyiv, indicating that the city is under attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy declared martial law in the country and said Russia had carried out missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and the country’s border guards.
