BMC issues special directives banning new year celebrations in the capital

Zero Night celebrations are banned in the capital this year. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation(BMC) issued the directive. No hotel, club or welfare centre can celebrate on December 31 this time due to the Covid 19.

Earlier, the Commissionerate of Police had announced that security arrangements would be tightened in the capital in view of the Zero Night celebrations. Twelve special teams of Commissionerate Police will be deployed in the capital. Crowds of hotels or pubs have to be restricted. In addition, blocking and checking will also be expanded. Checking at the intersection will be blocked and Breath analyzers will catch alcoholics.

Odisha has also had an impact since Covid’s second infection in the UK. Crowds have risen in various tourist attractions, parks, markets, malls and hotels in the capital at such a critical juncture. So the government did not allow Zero Night to celebrate this year. On the other hand, the Commissionerate of Police is set to take action against those who will be seen disobeying the rules. There will be no picnics on the outskirts of the city. Strict action will be taken if the rules are violated. The DCP said 12 squads were formed by the Commissionerate of Police.
