No Zero Night Celebrations This Year In Bhubaneswar

Keeping in view the Coronavirus pandemic, a celebration of zero night on the eve of New Year 2021 was banned in Bhubaneswar. BMC said in a statement that the current COVID-19 guidelines don’t allow the celebration of zero night on the New Year’s eve.

In the capital Bhubaneswar, the Zero Night celebrations are banned this year for the pandemic. BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chowdhury said all the celebrations and parties were banned on the night of March 31, according to the Corona Guidelines. New Year’s Eve celebrations are also not allowed.

The church, on the other hand, has special permission to celebrate the Christmas on 25th December. Church members will have to apply for a special permit in advance. It remains to be seen how many people will come together. That will be allowed accordingly, said Prem Chandra Chowdhury.
BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury stated, “December 31st celebration is not allowed as of now. The Covid-19 guidelines for December doesn’t allow any type of large gathering, social or political, apart from marriages and other rituals with a limited gathering”.
