The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued guidelines for Kartika Purnima and Bada Osha occasions in the Capital city of Odisha. The situation of the Covid-19 is still critical due to which BMC has issued a fresh guideline for Kartika Purnima on 15 November.
According to the reports, BMC has put restrictions on the celebration of the auspicious Kartika Purnima and Bada Osha on October 19 by imposing restrictions for the public on visiting different temples across the city.
Further public congregation won’t be allowed at Bindusagar Lake, river ghats and other water bodies within the jurisdiction of BMC. This is for the second time in a row Bhubaneswar residents won’t be able to sail miniature boats to mark the auspicious occasion of the full-moon day of the holy month Kartika which is considered the holiest occasion in the Odia calendar.
Further BMC stated that such restrictions have been imposed in the apprehension of COVID19 spread due to large congregation at temples and water bodies. Every year a large number of devotees throng temples for performing puja rituals and gather near the water bodies to sail miniature boats as per tradition.
